Individual Therapy Sessions

In an individual therapy session, I aim to provide a safe space to express and explore emotions while feeling heard and supported. I use a Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) framework in my sessions and also use other approaches such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Mindfulness to help clients process their struggles, regulate emotions, and heal past wounds. We will set goals of treatment in the intake session that will help to guide our sessions as you work toward accomplishing what you set out to achieve.

Therapy for Teens: If you are a teen or a parent of a teen, you know just how hard these years can be. There is an increase of big emotions, friendship issues, school stress, and self esteem can drop and without the knowledge of how to manage it all, life can become really challenging for both teens and their families. I utilize my background as a high school counselor and years in private practice to connect with teens. One of my strengths in working with this population is my ability to create a safe, comfortable, and validating environment that often directly conflicts with the stiff and cold idea that teens may have of therapy. This means I bring a lot of humor and creativity to my sessions! I help teens to produce a tool box of coping skills that are concrete, empowering them to face difficult situations.

Therapy for Young Adults: Most teens can’t wait to “grow up” and be taken seriously. Yet, once the young adult years come, many young adults find themselves feeling overwhelmed due to increased responsibility and self doubt. Finding jobs, paying rent and bills, and navigating the world can be scary. I help my young adult clients to know that it is ok to feel overwhelmed at times and they can do hard things with some good support and coping skills in place. I aim to empower my clients to feel confident in themselves as they find their place in the world.

Therapy for Adults: The to-do list in the adult years can feel overwhelming as you try to balance careers, take care of homes and/or family, and somehow fit in time for self-care. Many times, mental health is put on the back burner as the needs of others may come first. I give clients the space to address their concerns and learn healthy copings skills to manage the stress and tough moments in their adult lives. I help clients to learn that prioritizing their self care is not selfish and will allow them to be more present and effective in their lives and relationships.

Group Therapy

Group therapy is a great resource to connect with others who may have similar struggles, creating a feeling of “I am not alone”.  The format of the groups I run is comfortable, supportive, and educational. Periodically, I lead groups covering topics such as “Managing School Stress and Anxiety.” Click here for more information.

Workshops

Periodically I offer workshops such as “Managing School Stress and Anxiety” and “I’m applying to college, now how do I survive the process?”. The workshops are educational and skills based and I strive to create a relaxed and fun environment in which participants can share and learn. Click here for more information.

License Supervision (LPC)

I provide supervision hours for supervisees working to attain licensure in the state of Pennsylvania. Supervision is an important and necessary part of professional development that can help supervisees gain confidence, find their approach as a therapist, and create a healthy work/life balance. I offer support and guidance as cases are reviewed and processed.
