Where do i begin?

In order to begin counseling, you can contact me at 267-961-2519 or e-mail Lbutlertherapy@gmail.com. Once we connect, we can discuss the reasons you are seeking counseling and schedule an initial appointment.

What happens During the first session?

The first session is the intake session. During this session, we will review the consent paperwork that will be e-mailed to you prior to the sessions. We will build rapport, learn about the struggles that led to seeking counseling, gather some history, and make sure we are a good fit to work together. I believe that feeling comfortable with your therapist is one of the elements that make therapy successful. We will discuss goals of treatment and talk about my therapeutic approach to counseling.

How long are sessions?

Sessions are 50 minutes in length.

How often should I come to therapy?

When beginning therapy, I recommend that clients come once per week as we establish rapport and begin to address the current stressors. Frequency of sessions can increase or decrease depending on the progress of treatment.

When Do i pay?

Payment is due at the time of service. I accept cash, check, or credit card and can provide receipts.

What if i need to cancel an appointment?

Please contact me as soon as you know that you need to cancel or change an appointment. I require 24 hours notice for canceling an appointment. If you cancel within 24 hours of your scheduled appointment, a cancellation fee will be charged. The cancellation fee is the full cost of the session. I understand that there may be unforeseen circumstances that lead to canceling and can make exceptions when appropriate.

HOW DO I NAVIGATE OUT OF NETWORK BENEFITS?

To find out how your mental health benefits work, simply call the member services number on the back of your insurance card. You will want to ask the following questions:
1. What are my out of network benefits for outpatient mental health services? Specifically for procedure codes 90791 (intake session) and 90834 (a 38-52 minute session)
2. How much is my deductible, and how much is reimbursed once the deductible has been met?
3. What information do you require on the Superbill in order to process as out of network?
4. Where do I send the Superbills?
